Goodbye to 2015

With less than 5 hours until the New Year(undecided if we are venturing out or not) I sit in my chair and a half chaise lounge, under my toddlers Minion fleece, with my trusty water bottle(96 oz down 1 more bottle to go)I'm trying to decide what my "plan" is for 2016...........it's actually quite simple

I don't want to make a resolution! Instead I'm setting goals without a time frame! Because everything has to be taken one day at a time! You can't wake up and expect yourself to quit something cold turkey......that's just setting yourself up for failure(in my opinion).

I'm just a regular person trying to eat better, get more organized(a kid comes with a ton of extra crap), and just create better habits in general.

Happy New Year to you all!

Crossfit addict!

I started taking a Crossfit class locally on October 12th. The first two weeks were ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL! I was so sore but instantly I was addicted! I now crave my crossfit workouts and should I ever have to miss one.....YIKES!
A lot of people don't have a clue what Crossfit actually is.

Now there are some people out there that think these workouts are a piece of cake. If your an avid Fitness junkie then yes they might be however, I personally started to feel confident with myself around the 4th week. Form is a BIG part of these movements if you don't master that your wasting your time and at risk of injury.

When I mention things to my non crossfit friends I get some pretty interesting faces. "Today we had a 10 minute AMRAP and our skill was 5 EMOM and the WOD was ridiculous!" I'm NOT a crossfit expert by any means, but I'll share some basic terminology.

WOD- workout of the day

AMRAP- as many rounds as possible

EMOM- every minute on the minute

Back Squat- squat with barbell on your back

Front Squat- squat with barbell resting on your collar bone supported with hands

KB- kettle bell

These are just a few there are many many more!

If I had $1.00 for EVERY TIME someone asks me why I pay for that I would be pretty well off! I simply reply with if you would JUST try it you would understand!

If you have the opportunity to try a crossfit class I HIGHLY recommend you do so! Your much stronger than you think and you'll surprise yourself!

52 week money saving challenge

I'm sure you've seen this idea on either Pinterest or circulating on Facebook. But honestly what a brilliant idea!

I wouldn't be going to the bank every week.....most likely add the amount for the month and do one big deposit. Although, most banks have online banking making it that much easier and more convenient to deposit said weekly amount into your challenge account!

Just think of the possibilities for your total savings at the end of the year! It could be used for Christmas shopping, vacation fund, savings account in general, or just splurge on yourself!

The above chart came from here Whatever you choose to use your savings for I hope you enjoy it!

Who doesn't love coconut oil!?

I've recently discovered the many uses for coconut oil! And guess what......I'M HOOKED!!!

I started using it when I had gotten sunburned. I applied it after my shower or before bed. In the morning the burning sensation was gone and the redness had vanished. With continued use I didn't have any peeling!

Then, I began using it as a deep hair conditioner. This didn't last long as no matter how many times I washed my hair, it didnt come out!

Soon after, I started to use it as my facial cleanser. I used a small Glad container(like the size you would use for salad dressing if you packed a lunch) scoop some in and then pop it in the microwave to melt. I then add baking soda, stir it well, put the lid on and flip it upside down. This way the backing soda settles around the top. Then what's left at the bottom you can remelt and use the next time.

About, 3 months ago I got an AWESOME product in my ipsy bag! The company is called Clarisea and it's ALL NATURAL! check it out I PROMISE you will NOT be disappointed! I recieved the Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliant! It is AMAZING! I use it with my trusty coconut oil and it is MAGICAL!!

Finally, I just started oil pulling with coconut oil a week ago. There are so MANY benefits of oil pulling! From whiter teeth to balancing hormones! I clearly haven't been doing it long enough to see long term results however, I am seeing whiter teeth!

5 easy steps to oil pulling:
1. Scoop out about a tablespoon of oil
2. Swish the oil around your mouth(DO NOT SWALLOW) for 10-15 minutes. I usually swish for the length of my shower.
3. Spit the oil down the drain.
4. Rinse your mouth with water.
5. Brush your teeth.

What's your FAVORITE use for coconut oil? I'd love to try it out!
